China visa processing time explained
The visa centre usually processes standard applications in 4 working days and express applications in 3 working days, counted from the day after your appointment. Weekends and Chinese and UK public holidays don’t count.
Plan for the whole process
Allow time to gather documents and invitation letters, complete the form and get an appointment. Appointments can be busy before Chinese New Year and the summer. We suggest starting at least three to four weeks before you travel.
When to apply
You can usually apply up to three months before you travel. If you’re short of time, choose express and tell us your travel date.
